Nirodhaḥ Yoga Blog
We are celebrating 5KY's 2nd birthday this month! Coincidentally, we share our “birthday month” with National Yoga Month. It feels hard to believe that our studio has been open for two years already. In that time, we’ve met so many wonderful people: students, teachers, and participants in our community.
That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? Participating in a community and learning to build bridges to another perspective through connection and truth. This community is special to us because unlike other places where we can connect over a beer or a ballgame, this place allows us to connect with the deepest truth within one another. That thing that is common to us all, which is our innate inner peace. Even when we’re stressed or anxious or frustrated, that peace is always there and available for us to tap into. When we stay silent and still, we learn to melt into that peace. By connecting with the stillness and silence within, we commune with and benefit the entire community. That is what a sangha is. A group of spiritual practitioners, looking to make the world a better place. We start by working on ourselves. Together. You are welcome here. I invite you to stop by our Birthday Party on September 15th. We will have free classes all day and a special, by-donation Sound Voyage by Jay Taylor at 5:30pm.

What brought you to yoga? I was "physically" brought to yoga by my dear cousin Janet! (She is now one of our regular students at the studio!) I had no idea what yoga even was at that time...about 15 years ago! :-) The more I practiced the more I found peace... What is your approach to teaching? I teach with an open heart & try to offer my students the opportunity to connect to their own version of peace & joy! I am honored & humbled to share yoga with them! Why do you choose to teach at 5KY? I chose to teach at 5KY because of our cornerstone as a Yoga for the Special Child studio! I connect very much to sharing the deeper meaning of yoga with all our students! I consider the opportunity to teach as a gift! What makes your soul sing? My soul sings at the studio when my students find meaning beyond the physical aspects of yoga! My soul also sings when I receive big hugs from my daughter Sammie! :-) You can find Rita at 5KY teaching Restorative Yoga on Sundays at 3 PM. Rita returns from sabbatical, starting May 5th!

FIVE KEYS YOGA
|
WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAYFive Keys is fantastic! The studio is lovely and soothing, and the teachers are very caring and attentive. |
I've ... probably been to 25 different yoga studios. This is one of the most welcoming, calming spaces with very talented instructors. |
I love this yoga studio. It's a great balance of a good workout and relaxation and feels like a real community. |
An ideal studio for someone new to yoga. |
