Please find our current class schedule here.
2. How much do Classes Cost?

3. Where is the studio Located?
We are located in beautiful Roscoe Village, at 1818 W. Belmont Ave.  Find a map and more contact information here.
4. When is the studio open?
Our doors open 15 minute prior to every scheduled class and are locked 10 minutes after class begins.
5. Should I register for Class ahead of time?
We are a small studio and space is limited.  Therefore, we do recommend that you pay and register online ahead of time.  However, you are welcome to drop in before your class to pay and check in.
6. I'm running late.  Can I still attend class?
Our doors are locked 10 minutes after classes begin.  Unfortunately, we are not able to let late-comers in after 10 minutes.  But you are still welcome to join us if you are a few minutes late and the door is open.
7. What class is appropriate for me?
We have classes for all levels and abilities.  Our slowest and gentlest classes are Restorative and Gentle Yoga.  Level 1 classes are a little faster but still appropriate for beginners.  Levels 1&2 and 2 are for students who have been practicing yoga consistently and ready for more advanced techniques.  Please find more detail in our class descriptions here.
8. Can my Child drop in for one yoga class?
Sorry, we do not currently offer drop-in yoga classes for kids or teens.  This is because our classes build over ten weeks.  This ensures no one is left behind and our kids are appropriately and safely challenged, as well as building group camaraderie and a sense of community.  However, if you and your child would like to stop by the studio to check us out, please email us and we can arrange a special visit for you.
9. My Child missed one of their classes.  Can we make it up?
Absolutely!  You passes can be used at any class (of the same type) within one year of purchase.
10. Do you offer work-study?
Yes!  We offer unlimited free yoga classes in exchange for two hours of light cleaning and organizational tasks.  Work-study participants must be able to commit to four months of exchange.  If you are interested in joining our work-study program, please apply here.
Yoga Therapy FAQ
 1. How does Yoga Therapy differ from yoga?
Yoga and Yoga Therapy utilize the same techniques.  A yoga therapist coordinates with medical professionals (doctors, therapists, etc.) and has experience adapting traditional yogic practices to various needs and medical conditions.  For more information, check out our Yoga Therapy services page
2. How is yoga different from other therapies?
Yoga pairs well with physical, behavioral, occupational and speech therapies because it is integrative.  Yoga is a whole-body therapy that works gross and fine motor skills, as well as attention and speech.  Yoga teaches students to self-regulate and stay focused in school, other therapies, and at home.  And of course, yoga is very relaxing.  The skills gained from practicing yoga help focus and calm the mind and body, promoting well-being on all levels.
3. What are yogic practices?
Yoga uses a number of practices, including meditation, physical postures (or asana), cleansing practices (kriya), breathing exercises (pranayama), and deep relaxation (yoga nidra).  In Yoga Therapy, you are empowered to develop a healthy lifestyle outside of class as well.
4. Is Yoga Therapy appropriate for me or my child?
Yoga can improve a variety of limitations.  It is a balancing practice and has effects even on opposite conditions (i.e. high and low muscle tone; under and over focus).  There is emerging research on the benefits of yoga for a variety of special needs and disorders.  In general, yoga is a beneficial practice for anyone, regardless of needs.  Students can learn to accommodate their yoga practice to their individual needs with the right tools.   For more information about how yoga may address your specific needs, please contact Erin or give us a call.
5. What is a Yoga for the Special Child® class like?
Each class is tailored to the individual student, working to augment strengths and improve breathing, posture, and movement patterns.  A typical class begins by working with simple chants, which relax and focus the mind and begin the process of mind-body integration.  Next, we work on breathing exercises designed to deepen breathing and calm the mind.  Some children may work on eye exercises and then, we work on yoga poses geared to the child.  We end with a session of deep relaxation, leaving children with a sense of well being.  Kids love coming back for more yoga!  Go here for more information about Yoga for the Special Child.
6. How old does a child have to be before they can start yoga?
Yoga can be practiced from infancy onward.  In fact, early intervention is highly recommended.
7. What can parents do to support their yogi kids?
You may choose whether or not to sit in on your child's class.  If you do decide to sit in on class, please try to maintain the calm and quiet atmosphere of the room to help your child relax.  We wholeheartedly encourage parents to take yoga classes too.
8. What should I expect for my first Yoga Therapy appointment?
Expect the first appointment to last about an hour.  Please dress or have your child dressed in loose clothing.
9. How long does a yoga session take?
It depends on age and ability.  Typically, classes range from 25-60 minutes for kids and 60-90 minutes for adults.
10. How often should I or my child have Yoga Therapy?
At minimum, twice a week.  This frequency allows the benefits of yoga to be effectively incorporated by the body.

About Us

[He} can express his emotions in words - better night's sleep.  He does the breathing and poses at home.
My oldest has really learned how to relax and focus on her breathing.  My youngest also enjoys the songs and relaxing.  It is so good for their body awareness and flexibility.
What I like about yoga is that I am relaxed more and more calm.  And when I am frustrated, I breathe.  I like doing yoga.
Erin really takes the time to figure out your goals and challenges... Anyone can benefit from working with her because she shapes the program to fit you.
